For a
vacation experience
to remember . . .
Bay View Waterfront Bed and Breakfast is on a hill overlooking Occohannock
Creek with an expansive view to the Chesapeake Bay and a dock to deep water.
Guests can enjoy a superb view, reading, fishing, crabbing, biking, swimming
in the pool or the creek, a small beach, croquet, basketball, volleyball, a
full country breakfast, 140 acres of woods, farmland, and a creek shore to
hike and explore and an large gracious home.
The old part of the
house is one room deep, which takes advantage of summer breezes and
wonderful views of Occohannock Creek,
Chesapeake Bay, and farmland from every room.
Built in the
'big
house, little house' style unique to the Eastern Shore the three
original sections date from about 1800, and feature heart pine floors,
birds-eye-maple balusters, high ceilings and four working fireplaces.
Additions in 1940, 1961, and 1972 continued the Eastern Shore style
architecture until the house stretches over one hundred feet and has five
roof levels.
Come visit and enjoy the sunset view from our dock.
Bay View was a featured Rural Retreat
in Rural Living magazine in January 1993, a highlighted B & B
accessible by water in Chesapeake Bay Magazine for February 2003, and the
subject of Home Suite Home Away from Home in the Norfolk Virginian Pilot on Sunday,
April 4, 2004.
We are now pleased to tell you Bay View Waterfront Bed and
Breakfast has been approved as a Virginia "Green Lodging" property.
We want to do our part to help save our planet!
